Jesus commands us to be people of love: to love our neighbours and our enemies as ourselves.

Far-right politics try to limit this love, twisting scripture and encouraging Christians to fear and reject ‘the other’.

We are a movement of Christians seeking to resist the far-right. We need to root ourselves in scripture and tell the true, full, and Better Story of Jesus’ love for the outcast and the oppressed.

However, in our polarised political culture it is tempting to tell this Better Story in a divisive way, responding to hate with hate. We believe Christians must resist this temptation as much as we resist the division of the far-right - we can only tell the story of Jesus’ ministry of compassion through compassionate dialogue with those who disagree.

Theology

To stay true to the teachings of Jesus in this cultural moment, Christians need to lean on the theology, teaching and wisdom of previous generations.

Better Story hosts theology events and shares theological content through our newsletter.

Communication

Christians need to tell a better story about the role of faith in public life, in a way that encompasses the whole life of Jesus.

Better Story communicates through speaking at events and on social media. We also equip great storytellers who can communicate in a clear and compelling way.

Network

We need community. Community to learn with, to be creative peacemakers on protest days with, and to pray with.

Better Story builds this community through its action-focused network, inviting members to practical workshops, protest days, and prayer meetings.
